Allianz Commercial announces leadership transition in Latin America

Press release | July 6, 2026

Allianz Commercial announced today a leadership transition in Latin America. David Colmenares, who has served in the dual role of Regional Managing Director for Allianz Commercial Latin America and Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Colombia, has made the personal decision to leave the organization. Effective August 1, 2026, Gerardo Pardo, currently Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Argentina, will assume the additional role of Regional Managing Director for Allianz Commercial Latin America

The transition reflects the strength of Allianz Commercial's internal talent pipeline and is designed to ensure continuity of strategy, service, and relationships across Latin America. Gerardo's appointment  builds on his proven track record as CEO of Allianz Argentina and his extensive experience  in the Latin American insurance market.

As announced separately, Juan Francisco Sierra succeeds David as CEO of Allianz Colombia, stepping up from his current role as Chief Financial Officer.

Currently Chief Executive Officer of Allianz Argentina since January 1, 2023, Gerardo joined Allianz in 2017 as Claims Director and, in 2018,  moved to Chief Operating Officer (COO), assuming responsibility for Claims, IT, and Operations.

With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, including roles at companies such as La Buenos Aires, HSBC, QBE, and Chubb, he has led local teams across Finance, Claims, Reinsurance, Underwriting, and Risk Management, as well as holding regional Claims leadership positions with responsibility for Latin America.
