Allianz Benelux strengthens P&C and Sales setup

Press release | September 30, 2025

  • Jeroen den Tex appointed Chief P&C Officer Allianz Benelux and Regional Managing Director of Allianz Commercial leading all P&C client segments in one unit as of October 1.
  • The Allianz Integrated Commercial setup will allow all our commercial customers and business partners to access our offerings from a single, unified Allianz unit.
  • Heidi Cortois joins Allianz Benelux as of October 1 as Chief Sales Officer Belgium.
  • Thom Mallant and Hélène Portegies will leave Allianz Benelux.

Allianz Benelux aims to significantly boost its P&C business in the region, building on its excellent position in Commercial business, achieving further sustainable growth in Life & Health and building a strong Wealth book across the Benelux countries. As part of this strategy, Allianz Benelux will make changes in its Board of Management to better align its organizational structure with these objectives.

Going forward, all P&C activities, including the activities of Allianz Commercial in the region, will be bundled into one area. This Integrated Commercial approach will enable clear responsibilities across all P&C commercial segments and allow Allianz to offer our markets and brokers full coverage with one face to the market. It marks a significant step forward in the Allianz Commercial integration.

This new area will be led by a new Chief P&C Officer Benelux, Jeroen den Tex, focusing on Underwriting, Claims, and Technical Excellence.

Jeroen den Tex brings extensive leadership experience in several senior leadership roles at Chubb, RSA and AON, and most recently as Country President at Chubb Benelux. Jeroen is recognized for his exceptional strategic planning, client relationship management, and ability to drive profitable growth while fostering a high-performance culture. With a law degree from the University of Leiden and advanced training from prestigious institutions like IMD Lausanne, Jeroen has a keen interest in building multidisciplinary teams and enhancing operational efficiency.

At the same time the sales and market activities of Allianz Benelux will be strengthened with the appointment of Chief Sales Officers for both Belgium and The Netherlands. Heidi Cortois starts as Chief Sales Officer Belgium as of October 1. She will be responsible for representing Allianz to brokers and key clients, steering sales teams, and developing and implementing sales strategies and reporting directly to the Regional CEO. An announcement on the new Chief Sales Officer for The Netherlands is expected in due course.

Heidi Cortois has an extensive track record in the financial sector. She joins Allianz from her recent role as Chief Commercial Officer and member of the Executive Committee at NN Belgium, where she successfully led customer care, change, and sales for Life and initiated and managed sales of Non-Life insurance broker solutions. Earlier in her career she held senior roles at Crelan Bank and Insurance, TriFinance, and Marsh & McLennan Companies. Heidi holds a Master in Commercial Engineering from Solvay Business School and has completed a People Management program at Vlerick Business School. Her passion for driving sales and growth aligns perfectly with the ambitions of Allianz Benelux.

These appointments are subject to approval by the relevant regulatory authorities.

Thom Mallant and Hélène Portegies will leave Allianz Benelux. Eric van den Heuvel, Chief Underwriting Officer, and Jonathan Poole, Head of Allianz Commercial, will transition to the new combined P&C unit reporting into Jeroen den Tex.

Claudia Max, Regional CEO Allianz Benelux: "I am excited to see Jeroen and Heidi join our team in the Benelux and I am looking forward to working with them. With the new composition of our leadership team geared towards a One Benelux approach, we will be better positioned to capture and create business opportunities. It will certainly strengthen our collaboration with our business partners and lead to better servicing of clients. Of course I also want to extend my gratitude towards Thom and Hélène for their significant contributions to Allianz. I wish them all the best in their respective next steps.”
